Good morning everyone,
I hope you're all OK and adjusting to this new way of learning.
Here are a few suggestions for today:
English: Look at the picture above called 'On the Prowl' and have a go at answering these questions in the comments box below
Question time!
What time of day is it in the picture?
Why is only one tiger drinking from the pool?
Do the tigers know each other?
Why are they ‘on the prowl’ together?
What does the word ‘prowl’ mean? What does it suggest the tigers are doing?
Where will they go once they have finished drinking?
Where in the world would you find tigers? What is their natural habitat?
How do you feel about the fact that some tigers live in captivity?
Sentence challenge!
Make a list of all the different colours you can see in the picture. Can you write a paragraph to describe the scene in the picture, using lots of these colours?
Can you then replace all of the colours you have used with alternative words for those colours? E.g. sapphire instead of blue. Emerald instead of green. Charcoal instead of black.
What effect does this have on your writing?
Maths: Feel free to do any of the remaining sheets from the maths booklet, complete your Mathletics or continue earning points in our Times Table Rockstars Tournament against Miss Harmar's class - we need to beat them!
After the Easter holidays, Mrs Davis will be taking over the blog as I will be on maternity leave. I know she has lots of lovely ideas to keep you busy and she will be setting up 'Teams' so that you can share what you are doing at home more easily. I would just like to say a huge thank you to those children and parents who sent cards and presents before school closed, they were very kind of you and very much appreciated. You have all been a pleasure to teach this year and you have worked your socks off so you should feel very proud. Good luck for the rest of the year and as you move to Secondary School!
Have a lovely Easter holidays staying safe,
Mrs Davies

iI think that the times a day in the picture is it night-time this is due to the fact that the sun is set setting behind them in the photo . They might be out hunting at this time so don't get spotted by their prey , meaning it is easier to hunt. In my opinion only one tiger is is drinking from the pool as a result of the other one is keeping watch for any other predators who may come by , or it is just they do not need one . In this picture the tigers do know each other , they might be hunting to get food for their Cubs . The tigers are on the prowl to hunt for food .. If an animal is on the prowl, it is hunting. If a person is on the prowl, they are hunting for something such as food or a business deal . I think that after having their drink they will go and hunt for prey , or a new spot to raise their Cubs. Tigers are found in amazingly diverse habitats: rain forests, grasslands, savannas and even mangrove swamps. Unfortunately, 93% of historical tiger lands have disappeared primarily because of expanding human activity. Tigers are most commonly found in India , Russia , Indonesia and Malaysia . In my opinion i do not mind about tigers living in captivity because it protects them from poachers . However if they are being mistreated in captivity that is when they should be let free ..

1. The morning because the sun is coming up.
2. Because the other tiger does not t like the other tiger that is drinking from the water.
3. Yes but they had got into a big fight and they don’t like each other .
4. So they can prove who is the best at hunting their prey.
5. Prowl means they are hunting so they are hunting for animal to eat.
6. Into the forest where all the animals could be.
7. Africa Because it is nice and hot for them and a lot of animals roam around.
8. Annoyed because they are meant to live in the wild not in captivity however it is good to other animals in the wild because tigers will not hunt as much.
