In maths we have been learning how to partition numbers into tens and ones. We have used the deans apparatus to find out how many tens and how many ones are in a two digit number.
The children worked really hard with their learning partners and independently, they had to look carefully at the two digit number, recognise that the first number told us how many tens and that the second number told us how many ones were in the number. Then, they had to count out the correct amount of deans to match the number. Finally, they wrote the number that they had made making sure the numbers were formed correctly.
