It’s been a busy week again…

In Literacy, we’ve started to read our exciting, new class text, ‘Ice Palace’ by Robert Swindells. After reading the first few pages, we gathered ideas about how the language made us feel. We collaborated with our peers, and created a class poem by carefully choosing  vocabulary to help create a clear image in our mind of the story setting.

Later on in the week, we learned about the structure of a kennings poem. We created many different ‘kennings’ to name Starjik – the character in the story we have been reading about.

In Maths, we have been learning how to find a quantity of an amount using our Challenge by Choice sheets.

In Topic, we were treated to a special talk;  we learned all about the importance of Fair trade and what this means. We got to taste many different types of Fair trade chocolate, and had the opportunity to guess the different flavours…..yummy!

On Thursday it was World Book Day!  Don’t we all look amazing? I wonder if you can guess which characters we are?

Our well-deserved winner…
