What a wonderful day we had today at Ryedale Museum.

In the Victorian school, we did some Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic with a very strict teacher!  We used ink and a quill, and a slate to record our work.  At play time, we even played with some Victorian toys.

In the Victorian cottage, Wendy kept us on our toes by teaching us how to make the beds, scrub the front steps, grate soap, and how to use a posser and a mangle to do the laundry before we pegged everything out on the line with dolly pegs.

What a fun but exhausting time we had! I think we discovered how hard life was in the Victorian times, compared to the present day!
