Today, the children got themselves into expedition groups with the challenge of constructing outdoor shelters and dens using materials such as rope, tarpaulins, plastic sheets and pegs. We talked about the idea that in order to stay warm, their shelter should be large enough for them to fit in, but not too big that it would take a long time for it to warm up with their body heat. The children worked incredibly well together and were all able to construct a successful shelter.
