So far I have been amazed by how engaged the children have been within our topic of Gallery Rebels. Last week, we looked at impressionism and have painted Roseberry Topping in that style - lots of colours and mixes. This week however, we have moved onto look at expressionism, taking a closer look at some of Jackson Pollock's work and how it differs from another great expressionism artist, Max Beckmann.

Beckman in particular, seemed to capture the imaginations of the children. We had some amazing discussions over his different self-portraits and how he expresses, not what he looks like, but how he feels within his paintings. From the photos you can see below, I have included a few impressionism pieces as well as our starting designs for our expressionism pictures.

Keep your eyes peeled on the blog to see the final versions towards the end of the week.
