Good morning everyone!
I hope you are all well. I have got a few activities for you to have a go at below when you get chance. It's part of the pobble pictures we often look at during our morning reading sessions.
Perfect picture!
Imagine what the back of his head looks like. Can you draw or describe what you have imagined?
Alternatively, you could design your own version of the Head of the World.
Story starter!
He was the World.
His nose was like an enormous, ice-tipped mountain.
His forehead was a mighty river flowing across his brow.
His eyes were like deep canyons; colossal gouges chiseled from his rocky face.
His tears were waterfalls cascading down his grassy cheeks.
He was the World.
Can you continue the poem? Can you think of come of your own similes and metaphors to use?
Sentence challenge!
Can you identify all of the similes and metaphors in my short poem?
Can you think of your own similes and metaphors and create your own poem?
Question time!
If you chose to live on one part of the Head, where would it be?
If this was where we lived, what would happen when the Head awoke?
What do you think would be inside his mouth and eyes?
What do you think is causing the light around him?
Do you think there is a reason why the artist has created such a strange and abstract image?
Is there a deeper meaning behind it?

His hair is like a huge bush
His ears are the deepest, darkest caves
His cheeks are a huge group of chiseled rocky mountains
His lips are like the Marina Trench deep in the Pacific Ocean
I would live on his lips because I like swimming and I want to see a big octopus.
Looking at the picture, the mouth causes death because it eats people. It look dark and scary.
His chin looks like it's about to crumble because of the texture.
In his eyes , the brain would be there (the core of the earth).
The sun is causing the light, what else could it be?
meaning of the picture
The world is a person and should be treated like a person. We shouldn't be doing pollution and all of that.

His eyebrows were like bushes swaying softly and gently in the beazy wind,
His lips and eyes were like a sealed surface waiting to burst out beaming light.
I would live on the very top of his head, as it looks like they are cities and towns filled with houses.
I think there would be light inside is eyes and mouth and his tears could be the rain.
I think what is causing the light around him is the moon, sun and stars, because he looks like the earth, so he could be in the solar system.
I think the artist has created such a strange and abstract image, because the artist is trying to make us create images in our heads about the beauty of the world.
I think the man looks sad, so he could be ashamed of how we are treating the world, for example Global Warming, Climate Change, Deforestation, Animal Abuse and many more!

I will live on his nose, it’s nice and soft.
If he wakes his head will shake.
In his eyes and mouth there will be a glowing blue
Behind his head is the sun that glows
We live on earth with all these places
On the back of his head maybe the same we will never know unless he turns his head
