Hello everyone,  I hope you’ve all had a lovely week completing activities related to Under the Sea topic.  I have been sent lots of lovely work!

As you will know, some of the children will return to school next week. I, along with Mrs Chalrton and Mrs Fletcher are very excited about welcoming the children back into school next week. Here a few things for you to remember for Monday.

  • Every child can bring a water bottle.  Please make sure it is named.
  • Uniform- Uniform rules have been relaxed slightly.  Your child will still need to wear their school jumper or cardigan and this will remain at school all week. The children’s school clothes will need to be changed and washed every evening. If you choose to send your child in other garments from their usual uniform and run out, please send your child in something sensible to wear such as joggers, leggings and a plain t-shirt.
  • School shoes- If your child has grown out of his/her school shoes, please do not rush out and buy more. Just send them to school in a sensible pair of shoes or trainers.
  • PE will be during our usual Friday morning slot and will take place outside (weather permitting).  Children DO NOT need to bring their PE kit to school. If they could bring a pair of trainers or PE pumps in a named bag these will be kept on your child’s peg until the end of term.
  • School lunches- Every child in Reception will receive a school packed lunch proviced in a grab bag, however, if you wish your child to have a home pack lunch they can bring this from home.
  • Book bags- Books will only be changed on a Monday, so you will only need to bring book bags on a Monday. Each child will be given enough books to last them until the following Monday. Old books will be taken out of bags, kept in a box and then returned to our shelves the following week, this will reduce contamination.
  • Snack- There will be no fruit snack provided at playtimes. If you would like your child to have a healthy snack during break time, they may bring a piece of fruit or breakfast bar. This will be kept in their tray until break time.  There will also be no milk deliveries taking place.
  • As the weather is improving please ensure your child has suntan cream on before coming to school and that they bring a sun hat to school.
  • Please keep any work books and work packs at home I will let you know when these need to be returned to school.
  • If your child borrowed a school I-pad or laptop at the start of the school closure, and your child is now returning to school, these devices need to be returned. Thank you!

If your child is not returning to school on Monday please do not worry. I will be adding some activities that you can access at home. I will still be checking Teams daily to see what work is uploaded and completed however, please be aware I am in school and teaching so my response time may be a little slower than normal.

If anyone has any questions or worries please get in touch via Teams or email on –s.barker@roseberryacademy.org

See you all soon, Mrs Barker
