The children have been busy learning all about volcanoes this week. We’ve explored continents and the movement of the tectonic plates. The children plotted a map showing the ‘ring of fire’ and labelled some the Earth’s major volcanoes. We then watched volcanic eruptions including the 2010 eruption Iceland and had great fun trying to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull. The children then wrote about what causes an eruption. I’m extremely proud of the effort that has gone into their work.
