This term our new topics are called 'Exploring Autumn' and 'Why do the leaves go crispy?"
We started our week with a 'Wonderful Woodland Walk' around our amazing school grounds. We are so lucky to have such a beautiful space to play and learn here at Roseberry.
We talked about all of the changes that Autumn had made to the world around us.
We noticed that the leaves had changed colour and had blown off the trees. We enjoyed searching for lots of different coloured leaves.
We also searched for sticks and twigs because we wanted to make some Stick Man puppets back in the classroom.
In Maths we have been placing numbers in order to 10. For one of the activities we had to use some tweezers to find numbers in the tub of crunchy leaves. We had to pick them out with the tweezers and place them in the correct order.
At the Funky Fingers Table we used coloured wool to wrap around the cardboard leaves. This may look easy but it is really quite tricky when you are only 4. We worked hard to hold the leaf with one hand and wrap the wool with the other.
We really enjoyed making our own Stick Man puppets using the sticks and twigs we found on our Woodland Walk. We think they look amazing. What do you think?
