This afternoon we have been busy making bird cakes to put up in our outdoor area.
We first chopped the white sticky lard into smaller pieces ready to be melted.
We enjoyed watching the lard melt and noticed that not only did it change colour but it also turned into a liquid.
When the lard was all melted we stirred in lots of different seeds and spooned it into small tubs.
We cannot wait for Monday to put them out for the birds. We think they will enjoy them.
