We have been very busy this week!
We began by finding out all about the Islamic religion and beliefs. The children then wrote a fact sheet describing what they had found out.
Next, the children created stained-glass windows with geometric designs that are inspired by the Islamic ideal that geometric designs emphasise the infinite power of Allah. They worked really hard to intricately create their patterns.
Thinking again about the geometry and the architecture in the mosques, the children designed and then painted their own clay tiles.
Ramadan was this month and the children wanted to know more about it. They found out information and then presented it beautifully.
Finally, the children continued with the geometric design theme and created their own cross-stitch patterns.
