In Medieval times, all books were hand written and decorated by hand, usually by priests and monks. The children have created their own illuminated letter for the first letter of their name.
The children have been reading through lots of different sources of evidence and have found out that historians suggested that many medieval treatments were successful, especially the herbal remedies, in helping to cure the plague. Nevertheless, there were other types of cures used in the Middle Ages that many people tried. For example: cutting open buboes and draining the pus; praying, or whipping themselves to try to earn God's forgiveness; rubbing onions, herbs or a chopped-up snake on the boils or cutting up a pigeon and rubbing it over an infected body.
We have also learnt about knights and their role in Medieval Times.
