Polar Bears & Penguins

During our Time to Talk session this afternoon, I asked the children ….

Do you think Polar Bears and Penguins are friends?

 

There were a lot of mixed responses with some children saying yes and some thinking no because the Polar Bears would eat the Penguins.

 

They were very surprised to find out that, in fact, Polar Bears and Penguins have never even met each other before.

 

We looked at why this is.  The children enjoyed exploring the globe, finding the Arctic and Antartica and recreating our own ‘bird’s eye view’ to show just how far apart the Polar Bears and Penguins live.
