This afternoon, the children were able to pretend to be explorers and build their own survival shelters. The children had an hour and limited supplies, other than what they could scavenge from the surrounding woodland in order to build them. Some groups managed to create superb shelters, which would have been capable of keeping them alive through a night of cold, harsh weather. Other groups I feel however, would have perished before the sun had set! Take a look at the pictures below and the amazing efforts the children went to. It’s safe to say, they all had fun and now have a far better understanding of the challenges faced by Shackleton and his crew.
