As part of 'Environment Day', the Year 2 children have been learning about the impact of plastic pollution and how most of the plastic thrown away often ends up in our oceans.  We discovered that many everyday items are made from plastic and that it can take over 400 years for a bottle made of plastic to breakdown!  To reduce the amount of plastic that we are generating and using, the children had a go at making their own 'milk plastic' using vinegar and milk.  They enjoyed making an alternative material to plastic which is certainly better for the environment.  The children also created some colourful jellyfish and fish sculptures reusing plastic materials, well done everyone!
