What a fantastic Cultures week Year 2 have had learning about Islam. The children found out about where Muslims go to pray and re-enacted the important washing rituals (Wudu) which Muslims perform each time they go to a Mosque. We also performed some of the prayer positions and looked at the Arabic writing in the Qur'an. The children created many beautiful pieces of written and artistic work, including some vivid watercolours of a Mosque. To round the week off, the children also marked the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations by holding a special picnic lunch, donning their royal headgear, and planting flowers. Well done everyone, a super duper effort!
