What a fantastic first week back we've had!

It was lovely welcoming all of the children into their new classroom on Tuesday. All of the children have worked really hard and enjoyed their first week back at Roseberry.

Learning started straight away for the Year 4 children, with us learning all about the 'Ring of Fire'. The children found out that the 'Ring of Fire' is a horseshoe-shaped line on a map which is home to around 75% of the world's volcanoes and 90% of the world's earthquakes. The area is a 25 000 mile line of volcanoes, tremors and earthquakes around the edge of the Pacific Ocean. The children really enjoyed locating the 'Ring of Fire' on a world map, finding and labelling the different continents, oceans and some of the world largest volcanoes.

Next, we looked closely at Mount Vesuvius. We used our maps skills by finding the Gulf of Naples to help us locate the volcano on a map of Italy. Then, we practiced our retrieval skills to see what we could remember about the location of other Italian cities. We can’t wait to learn more!

Well done everyone, a great first week back!
