This week the children have been focused and enthusiastic in all areas of learning.

In English, we have started to read the text ‘The Firework maker’s daughter’ by Philip Pullman. We are looking forward to discovering what will happen next for our main character, Lila.

In Topic, we’ve continued our learning about volcanoes. This week, we have been learning all about the structure of the volcano and what causes a volcanic eruption. Next, we wrote a set of instructions for ‘how to create an erupting volcano’. We have had lots of fun following them to create the structure using cardboard, paper and tape. We are so excited to use Mod Roc to create our models!

We ended the week with our first REAL time activity, British Sign Language, where we showed understanding towards the deaf community. We thought about how learning to finger spell can make others feel before learning the alphabet. We can't wait to learn more.
