Since the start of term, all of the children in Year 2 have been developing their key reading skills. We have been working on reading a wide range of different texts with greater fluency and speed. The children have enjoyed using practical tools such as pointing sticks and highlighters to scan and retrieve specific vocabulary and important information. All of the children are becoming more familiar using VIPERS which is the approach we embed across both key stages at Roseberry to deepen the children’s understanding of reading. It has been wonderful to see all of the children display such a passion for reading, well done everyone!
