This week, we have enjoyed learning about Boudicca in Topic. We learned how she was the leader of the Celtic Icini Tribe and about the battles she fought in. Using this knowledge, we produced some fabulous fact files all about her. We were amazed by the fact that no one knows what really happened to Boudicca after discovering that some historians believe she killed herself when she knew the Romans had defeated her, yet others say she fell ill and died. We were curious questioners and all thought about our own theories, linking these to how knowledge from the past is passed on.
In English, there were some incredible pieces of writing inspired by the story 'Papa God' from the book 'Tales of Wisdom and Wonder' written by Hugh Lupton. I was really impressed by the language used by the children.
We have also had great fun in music, learning to play 'G' on a glockenspiel. The children had to play along to the song 'Mamma Mia', keep in time to the music and sing along to the song!
