My group and Mr Murton’s group have had an amazing day kayaking on the river Esk and building fires and shelters up in the woods near Falling Foss. The children have shown brilliant team working to build their shelters and both fine and gross motor skills to manourvre their kayaks around the river, playing games of tag and Bulldogs. Also building on their team working skills, Mrs Watson’s and Miss Burley’s groups have spent the day climbing at Scugdale. From what I hear, the children have worked exceptionally well supporting and challenging one another.
This week has been one of the best East Barnby weeks, ever! The children have shown real resilience and strength of character when faced with activities that push them, not only slightly but well and truely, out of their comfort zones. I have been really proud of them.
We rounded off our final night at East Barnby with a campfire, toasting marshmallows and singing songs, but I know the kids are very much looking forward to seeing their families tomorrow afternoon. See you all then…bring pegs for your noses!
