This week was S.A.W (Science, Art, Writing) week and the theme was ‘Lunchbox Science’.

We investigated changes that happen to foods, and we found out that some changes are reversible, where others are irreversible.  We each baked our own bread roll, and we even churned our own butter.  Then, we used our cutting, slicing and grating skills to make delicious sandwiches!  -If you’d like to make butter, we have written instructions to help you!

Using various fruits and vegetables, we created artwork, including; faces, creatures, vehicles, and plants.  We also used peppers and mushrooms to print patterns, and used different coloured, and textured materials to create some fruity collages.

After reading the story, ‘Supertato and the Veggies in the Valley of Doom’, we decided that the Evil Pea needed capturing. Therefore, we made WANTED posters.  Look out for this ‘mischievous, thoughtless criminal’! He has ‘a black eye mask over his beady eyes‘ and ‘colossal, white teeth’!

As well as enjoying S.A.W week, we even fit in the time to take part in a football tournament hosted by the Tom Burke Academy, and a Harvest Festival assembly!

Phew! What a busy week, and a very busy half term! Enjoy the holidays!
