Last week, during Literacy, we began work on our new text, ’The Village that Vanished’. We have made predictions on what we think it’s going to be about.
In topic lessons, we found out about the area of Africa in which it is set – Mozambique.
This week, we’ve imagined being one of the characters in story, and described our thoughts and feelings on the prospect of being taken away by foreign masters, to be sold as slaves.
In Maths, we’ve been learning to count in fractions, as well as adding and subtracting them together. I was so proud of my class when I looked around the classroom on Tuesday and saw such hard-working, enthused, collaborative learners.

Using the ancient Aryan boteh motif as inspiration, we created our own versions by scoring similar designs into foam print blocks.
