This week in Year 4/5 we've been working our socks off!
In English, we've been continuing reading our engaging class text, ’sky Hawk’. In the book, the main character Iona doesn't live with her mother, so we wrote letters to her mum to explain everything that has been happening in Iona’s life over the past few weeks. Take a look at the example below, I think you'll agree it has been beautifully written...
As part of our ’Darwin Delight’s’ topic, we ventured around our beautiful school grounds to investigate the different types of specimens we could find - just like Darwin did when he was on his 5 year trip around the world. When we got back to the classroom, we made observations and noted down our discoveries. Miss Harmar was extremely impressed with our plant knowledge and researching skills.
Later on in the week, we learned how animals are adapted to suit their environment. We researched animals that live in the Galapagos Islands. Did you know the Galapagos penguin is the only penguin to live north of the equator? Did you know the Blue Footed Booby has binocular vision?
Last but by no means least, a very big well done to Daniel who has scored over 1,000,000 points on TTRS! What an incredible achievement - WOW!!
