We have had a lovely week celebrating Harvest Festival for whole school Cultures Week.
We talked about how at this time of year the farmers are collecting their crops. We talked about what we might see on a farm, starting with the animals, the food that comes from and farm and the different types of vehicles the farmer uses. We talked about all the different types of vegetables. We played a game to help the farmer sort all the fruits and vegetables.
During Phonics we had a go at writing our sounds using carrots and asparagus stalks. We thought this was very funny.
As the whole school was celebrating different cultures from around the world we have a delicious lunch tasting foods from India. We loved the giant Poppadoms.
During our Art session we had a go at using different types of media to draw some seasonal vegetables. We used pens, pencils, paint and even the Interactive Board to draw the different vegetables.
What a lovely week we have had.
