What a busy week Year 2 have had!

Our new topic is ‘Scented Garden’, and when we returned after our holiday, we discovered a magic beanstalk had grown in our classroom!

On Wednesday, Mrs Ward brought in some of her carnivorous plants, and some cacti.  We set up an experiment to see what would happen to our cress seeds and beans if we placed some in the daylight, and some in the dark.  We will observe them over time.

In Literacy, the children at school and at home, have worked incredibly hard to produce leaflets to inform people about how littering affects wildlife. We used our organisers to help us write sentences.

In Maths, we have continued our work on shapes.  We have been looking at 3D shapes.

On screen-free Friday, we used the carrots from our snack box to make some delicious soup!

We added shallots, garlic, parsley, coriander, and even some plant-based ‘cream’.  Yummy!
