This morning the children transformed into super scientists. They have used their observation sills and analsysised water and soil samples collected on Monday from our walk along the river Leven.

The children found it fascinating to look closely at the samples taken from the river bed, the side of the river and on the river bank. They noticed the similarities and differences between the samples. They noticed how much grit, sand and mud was found in the samples. They also noticed how dirty it made the water.

Next, we tested the water samples collected from the river and one from the taps at school. They notice how clear the tap water was in comparison to the yellow water collected in the river. We used litmus paper to test the PH and then filtered the water to show the clarity of the water.

The children really enjoyed getting hands on and becoming scientists for the moning!
