After an extra long weekend we came back to school raring to go! On Wednesday, during PE the children developed their team building skills, in preparation for the up and coming sports day on Friday 20th May. Everyone worked together to support each other and showed great sportsmanship and team spirit.
We've continued learning about rivers as part of our 'Flow' topic. This week we have labelled the different parts of a river, including the mouth, source, tributaries and the confluences. The children have been reading information during reading sessions about different rivers around the world. This led to a wonderful class discussion and fact finding mission to find out more about the Amazon river and the Nile.
In English, after last weeks planting of runner beans the children wrote their own set of instructions. They gave lots of detail which would help others who would like to plant runner bean seeds. We've continued reading the story of 'Lob' by Linda Newbery. The children had a debate as to whether 'Lob' was real or imaginary. The class listened to each others view points, gave reason for and against and very maturally agreeded to disagree on this subject. They are waiting to read more of the story to make a final opinion on the truth about 'Lob'
