Reception have been celebrating whole school Cultures Week. We talked about Harvest Festival and how this is a time when the farmers are busy bringing in their crops. We talked about how Harvest is a good time to share our food with friends and neighbours.
We talked about the story of The Little Red Hen and how it is nice to make food and share it with our friends and also how it is nice to be helpful, unlike the characters in the story.
We then explored an alternative to the traditional tale and read The Little Red Hen makes a pizza. In this story, although the friends don't help to make the pizza, they do help to wash up and tidy away at the end.
