The children really enjoyed creating their own Rio carnival instruments. They decorated them with bright colours, sparkles and feathers so they could be used out our carnival party.

Through an investigation yesterday, we found out that washing hands for 20 seconds really does have a big effect on germ control. Today,  we made informative posters about the importance of keeping your hands clean.

If you place your finger, which is lathered in soap into the water, you'll notice that the soap particles expel (remove) the black pepper from the area surrounding your finger.

We had great fun running our mile in aid of Sport Relief. Well done, everyone! 

We had a great time this week learning about Ancient Greek sport. Because of this, we wondered if we were fit enough to take part in their sports. As a class we conducted an experiment, took measurements and recorded our results in a table and bar chart.

The children did well to run their mile today in conditions which were far from ideal. It was grey, overcast and very wet, yet as you can see from the photos below, the children had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed their run out in the rain!

This afternoon, the children ran around the playground for Sport Relief.

Me and Mrs Murton were very impressed with the effort of the children's running and some children ran non-stop for the full time totaling 5 miles. 

The children in year one had a great time running a mile for Sports relief!
