This week for English, I set a task for the children to create their own list poems based on the book we are reading in English, 'Leon and the Place Between'. I was so blown away by the quality of the writing I had seen from you guys, that I had to showcase a few examples on here. They really were excellent examples of list poetry and I'm so proud of how hard you've all worked on these, in class and at home.
Sit back and enjoy reading through these.
Magical List Poem - James
The crowd fidgeted
Impatiently
The curtains twitched
Curious
The curtains slowly parted
Excited
Magic show tonight
Believe
The lanterns went out
Nervous
A soft blue glow lit the stage
Spooky
A loud hush
Eager
Everyone waiting
Anticipation
It’s going to be magic…believe!
Magical List Poem
Let the magic begin
Cool
Crowd fidgeting
Exciting
Lanterns go out
Scary
Curtains Twitching
Weird
Curtains slowing parting
Amazing
By Nancy
Alistair
List Poem
Magic doves fly around
Excited
Believe in magic
Wonder
Lanterns black out
Scared
The air is silent
Nervous
The curtains twitch
Terrified
A light on the stage
Starting
Magic gloves disappear
Wow!
Magic! I believe…
Josephs List Poem
The Great Yorkshire Show
Daddy Wakes me up early
Sleepy
Drive to the show
Excited
Sausages Ready
Burnt
Check the sheep
Carefully
Look at tractors
Huge
Clay Pigeon Shooting
Brilliant
Get ready for the young handler class
Nervous
Walk around the ring
Slowly
Judge pulls me into line
Excited
Spot Jumps in the air
Naughty
Second Prize
Proud
Back to the Horse box
Party

List Poem
Magic fills the air
Wonder
The lanterns go out
Whispers
Darkness fills the show seats
Excited
The golden show tent
Hushed
Lights fills the stage
Glowing
The curtains ripple
Swirling
Doves fly high from behind
Fluttering
The magician takes my breath away!
