What a wonderful first week back!
This week the children have worked so hard in Topic and English.
During topic, 'Tribal Tales' the children worked collaboratively to create their own timelines. They were able to place the Stoneage, Bronze age and Iron age periods in order. They then looked at the dates on the events and added different events to the correct period. The children found this very tricky, however, they didn't give up, they discussed and moved the pieces around until they were happy with the order of events.
In English, the children have enjoyed listening to the story ' Monkey and Papa God' This story is from the book 'The Tales of Wisdom and Wonder' They listened to the story and were able to help build our own story map and then retell the story using speech, a variety of punctuation marks and included lots of detail from the text.
