To continue with our Winter Wonderland topic, we explored ice paints. Yesterday we made a colourful mixture of water and paint and popped it into the freezer. When we checked today they had frozen. We covered our table in paper and explored the marks it made as the ice melted. We loved the feel of the ice, and noticed how it got smaller, we thought our warm hands were melting it. First, we moved the ice around and made shapes and some wrote their names. Afterwards, Lilly noticed the colours were mixing together on her hands. This stemmed curiosity from the other children and they tried mixing different colours together and investigating what colours they could make. We enjoyed this activity until sadly the ice paints melted and we were left with a puddle. Our penguins did enjoy this and they had a waddle and a splash around.
