Colin the Chameleon
We have really enjoyed having another special visitor to our classroom. Colin the Chameleon joined us for Phonics, he helped to give out the boards and pens and we all had a go at writing his name. We did a fabulous job sounding out Colin. Colin also did a fabulous job with his reading and even managed to get his peg onto the golden traffic light.
During story time we read Colin’s book which was all about how the other animals kept standing on him because they couldn’t see him. We found out that this is called camouflage.
In the story Colin decides to make himself a really brightly coloured hat so that all of the animals could still see him even when he was camouflaged. Some children decided that they would like to make Colin a hat. We collected lots of different red and pink materials. We think Colin liked all of the different hats we made.
