On Thursday, we visited Christ Church for an organ workshop.  Professor Baker and Mr Lee showed us different organ pipes, taught us a new song, and helped us build our own organ!

Today, the children have been researching and discussing the topic of Reuse, Recycle and Reduce. When they were researching about this topic, they found out some startling facts:

This week we have been very busy learning about the ocean especially the deep. We have read about the first explorers Otis Barton and Will Beebe who in 1930 dove into the ocean in a metal ball called the Bathysphere. We have visited some of the coral reefs around the world and swam with sea lions…

This week have created our own Volcanoes. We used  the art technique of papier mache  to make the shape of the volcano and then added paint to make it look like lava was flowing down the sides.

Today, the children have been taking inspiration from Monet to create their own acrylic paintings of landscapes.

Yesterday, the children started their next SAW week: Epic Earth. In the morning, the children learnt about the Amazon rain forest and then worked with their partner to create their own poems. In the afternoon, they made animal pom poms.

There were some lovely smells coming from the wildlife area today!  Mrs Rowan had prepared some of our wild garlic so that the children could taste garlic bread and garlic potatoes.  Mmm…

Congratulations to the children and staff of Endeavour (blue) Team, who won the 2019 Sports Morning! You were fabulous.

This is the first time in over ten years that Endeavour has won – it’s no wonder their Team Captain is smiling!

Today, the children were informed of their classes for September. As you are aware from last week’s newsletter, we have set classes for September based upon our knowledge of the children’s academic ability, as well as knowing the children with whom they work well. We have also considered boy/girl…

We all had a fantastic time today at our Sports Morning.  Everybody tried their best, and we had a lot of fun!
