This week, Year 2 have been learning all about New York.

L.S. Lowry
We have been finding out all about the artist, L.S. Lowry. We were so inspired by his work that we created our own artwork, showing the industrial factories, terraced houses, and match stick people that Lowry enjoyed drawing and painting.

Reading Skills
This morning, we worked incredibly hard on our reading skills. We worked collaboratively to apply our phonics knowledge to match the captions to the pictures, and also used our highlighters to find evidence in the text to help us answer questions.
Programming
This afternoon, we used the laptops to learn some programming skills. We programmed our sprites to travel forwards, backwards, left and right, in order to complete different tasks. We used the website ‘j2code’, and had lots of fun!
