As we come to the end of out topic 'Allotment', I have been so impressed with the variety and quality of work the children have produced at home. Well done Y6!

It has been brilliant to be back together this week and we have been very busy!

In topic, we began the week looking at how far our food travels to get to our plates.

We have had a fantastic day completing book inspired activities. These activities included: writing our own comics, designing bookmarks, making wanted posters for book villains, designing new front covers for stories...

This week, we used recycled materials to make planters for our gardens. They look fantastic! We can't wait to see what grows!

This week, we started work on our new topic 'Allotment'.

We began by using maps to locate our local allotment and taking pictures. 

We then thought about vegetables which are grown locally and in season and we designed and made healthy vegetable soup - delicious!

This week for our topic work, the children have been making Mexican musical instruments. They have also produced artwork inspired by the Day of the Dead festival. 

This week in Literacy, we have been writing poems inspired by 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. We have been creating Haikus and Kennings. Great work everyone!
