This morning, we started our celebrating cultures week learning about Ramadan.  First we found out about Muslims and their faith.  We then heard a story about what Muslims do during the month of Ramadan.  We thought about the good deeds that they do and some of the things we do.

A brilliant time had by all at Sports Day! Well done, everybody! 
 

Year 1 had a great time at their Carnival party this afternoon! The children danced to Brazilian music, learnt a Samba routine, played games and ate party food! What a fun afternoon!

Well done to Year 1 who won their first ever Times Tables Rock Stars battle! I am so proud of the children!

As part of our current topic, ‘Rio de Vida’ we’ve been learning all about Brazil and it’s landmarks. This week we’ve also sorted images into physical and human features and also learned the names of some specific flags! What a busy week! Well done, Year 1!

As part of our topic, the children learned names for some animals in Portuguese this afternoon! Well done, everybody! 
 

Because football is such a popular sport in Brazil, and we’re currently learning about this country, we took part in our own penalty shootout! The children had lots of fun and celebrated at the end by taking part in a mini football match!
